Who has to create a hazardous substances register?
All companies that work with hazardous substances are obliged to keep a list of hazardous substances in accordance with Section 6 (12) of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance.
In what form can a hazardous substances register be kept?

Is a digital list of hazardous substances sufficient or does it have to be printed out?
A digital list of hazardous substances is sufficient as long as it is available at all times and meets the legal requirements.
What information must a list of hazardous substances contain in accordance with Section 6 (12) GefstoffV?
The list must contain at least the following information: Name of the hazardous substance, classification according to the CLP Regulation, quantities used, areas of application and references to the safety data sheet.
How often does the hazardous substances register need to be updated?
The list of hazardous substances should be updated regularly, especially when safety data sheets change or new hazardous substances are added.
